January 2025 – We’ve kicked off the New Year with the exterior modernisation.
We’ve kicked off the New Year with contractors arriving on site to replace the 40 year old external corrugated sheeting and replace it with superior insulation and a modern look exterior. The complete works should take about 3 weeks so the village hall should be ‘dressed in its new finery’ by the end of January. Preparatory work on the new CCTV system has also been completed and the system should be fully up and running by the end of January also. This is being installed for security and personal safety reasons for the benefit of everyone visiting the village hall facilities.
January 2025 – It is with great sadness that we report the passing of our good friend and fellow trustee, Cliff Rowbottom, who sadly died this week, finally losing his battle against cancer. We all send our condolences to Mary and we will always be grateful for Cliff’s contribution to the village hall, especially designing our new logo and setting up this new website. After a courageous battle, stoically borne, Cliff is now at peace.
January 2025 - What’s Next – facilities upgrade? With the new cladding completed, the next phase planned is the major upgrade of the courtyard with new canopy, paving and fencing. This will create a great social space for both community and private events. This phase of works should be commenced in March and completed by the end of April 2025 latest. Watch this space – and why not talk to us about holding your event at our much improved village hall?
In the next few weeks the village hall trustees plan to meet with members of the Parish Council to reflect on the results of the Neighbourhood Plan and feedback from elsewhere. This will help us prioritise the next phases of our village hall improvements.
